Can Tho: Implementing Cardiac Catheterization to Treat Congenital Heart Disease in Children
Doctors from Can Tho Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital 1 in Ho Chi Minh City collaborated to perform interventional cardiac catheterization to treat congenital heart disease for 5 children, opening up hope that children in the Mekong Delta can receive heart disease treatment locally without needing to be transferred to higher-level facilities.

Compassion and medical ethics towards the poor in Quang Ngai
On August 12-13, 2023, a đoàn of volunteer doctors and physicians from Ho Chi Minh City and Viet My General Clinic (Quang Ngai) provided free medical examinations and medicine to over 1,100 individuals including the poor, veterans, and children. Among them, more than 600 disadvantaged children received congenital heart disease screening.
Children’s HeartLink Recognizes Vietnam’s First Pediatric Cardiology Center of Excellence
On July 18, the Cardiovascular Center of Children's Hospital 1 in Ho Chi Minh City (including the Cardiology Department, Interventional Cardiology Unit, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac Intensive Care, and Anesthesia and Resuscitation) was recognized as a Cardiac Center of Excellence by Children's HeartLink.
Over 2,000 children in Dak Glong and Tuy Duc receive free congenital heart disease screening and treatment.
This trip to Đắk Nông aims to help children in remote areas and ethnic minority communities access modern medical services and receive free treatment for congenital heart defects under the best conditions.

The first person to receive a partial heart transplant.
A partial heart transplant, recently performed by Duke University Hospital (USA) on a newborn boy with truncus arteriosus, a rare and complex congenital heart defect, has shown positive results. After nearly 5 months of treatment, the baby is healthy and growing like a normal child.
