The HCMC Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease Society was officially established on October 24, 2006, under Decision No. 060/HYH-QD issued by the HCMC Medical Association.

- The Society is a voluntary socio-professional organization comprising specialists and healthcare advocates committed to advancing care for Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease.
- Administratively, the Society operates under the HCMC Medical Association, serving HCMC and neighboring provinces to fulfill professional requests from local physicians.
- Professionally, the Society is affiliated with the Vietnam Pediatric Association and the Vietnam National Heart Association, actively participating in specialized medical activities with both organizations.
- The Society focuses on advancing medical techniques and public health, with a commitment to building a modern medical foundation for Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease.
- Guided by the HCMC Medical Association, the Society maintains an exclusive focus on its clinical specialty, strictly adhering to national laws and the highest standards of medical ethics.

KEY MILESTONES
August 2006: Establishment of the Campaign Committee for the HCMC Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease Association (under Decision 037/HYH-QD), led by the late Prof. Hoang Trong Kim, MD, PhD.
October 25, 2006: The Inaugural Congress (1st Term: 2006 - 2011) was held to elect the very first Executive Board.
2012 - 2020: Hosted 9 annual International Conferences on Congenital and Structural Heart Interventions, attracting 300 - 400 global delegates each. (Paused 2021- 2023 due to COVID-19).
2019: Officially renamed to the HCMC Pediatric Cardiology & Congenital Heart Disease Society following the decree by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
